Ivy Coach Website Retrospective September 15 As we transition to a newly designed website today (if it hasnt switched already, it will within hours), we thought wed take a look back at prior versions of our website. What can we say, were nostalgic like that. Keep in mind that weve been online since essentially the turn of the century (literally!) so old versions of our website were quite bad indeed. Were ok with that. Well own it. Were not designers. Were college admissions experts. One of our former students designed our first site. Yikes indeed. But even when the design was lacking a bit, we always had tons of easily accessible information. That has remained a constant for Ivy Coach. Were quite happy with our new site. We feel it reflects our personality and our unique approach to highly selective college admissions. But today, it is also one day closer to looking as silly as previous versions of our site. Websites are like Apple products  in this way. Theyre outdated just about the second you leave the store with them. Have you seen the original iPod? One could use it as a weight for exercise. State’s CTE Policies—. The Texas government has the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, as well as the Texas Workforce Commission. They help build the workforce, challenges, and opportunities to help with growing the education economy needs as they arise. The board is strengthening the academic knowledge from grades k-12 to ensure the college readiness and workforce. Greg Abbot announced the program is funded with $7.2 million in grants raised from the Texas Workforce Commission and Board. The grants are awarded throughout high schools. CTE Issues— Funding is always going to be an issue till they change the policy in the United States. Every school and program must be funded in some way or another. The US needs to make a change the school funding making sure it is going to all the right causes. The United States has seen funding and budget cuts year after year with no steady amount of funding for the programs. Leaving a serious situation to deal with when trying to progress as a country. Employer and business leader engagement in design and support of effective pathways to careers. Texas has many polices with adding new programs into their system, however, to have a successful education system getting the employers and community involved is huge. Countries that are very successful with their CTE programs have non-stop support from employers. They realize how much they are also helping themselves in the future by helping support the programs. New institutional structures at the regional labor market level in providing coordinated quality assurance and sustainability. Impressionism vs. Cubism Art, according to Websters Dictionary, is a human skill of expression of other objects by painting, drawing, and sculpture. People have used art as a form of expression for a long time. From the Mesopotamian era to the Classical Greeks and the present. Art is expressed in many different ways and styles, and is rapidly changing, one style replacing another. Impressionism and Cubism broke away from the traditional style of painting. They were both looking for a new way to express everyday life. Time is an important tool that is used in Cubism as well as Impressionism. This element is expressed in Claude Monets Sunrise and Pablo Picassos Man with a Violin in different ways. Cubists were looking for a different way to express human form as well as art in general. They provided what we could almost call a Gods-eye view of reality: every aspect of the whole subject, seen simultaneously in a single dimension. According to Fiero, the Cubist image, conceived as if one were moving around, above, and below the subject and even perceiving it from within, appropriated the fourth dimension-time itself. In a sense, Cubism is four-dimensional: depth, height, breath, and time, but seen all at once. It displays different viewpoints from different aspects. The object is taken and looked at in many perspectives and is represented that way on the canvas. Monets painting Sunrise displays vivid color, which is commonly used among impressionists. The painting is of the sun rising over the lake, over looking the bay and the boats within. Sunrise is a patently a seascape; but the painting says more about how one sees than about what one sees. It transcribes the fleeting effects of light and the changing atmosphere of water and air into a tissue of small dots and streaks of color-the elements of pure perception (Fi ero 114). Academic Research Writing

Question: Discuss about theAcademic Research Writing. Answer: Introduction Academic writing refers to the act of publishing a conducted research that is set in several subsets of forms and genres. This article sets out to provide a full spectrum of the critical components of academic writing and also gives examples of academic writings. The paper will set out to present an overview of the critical approaches applicable when one does a piece of about a subject. Much as writing is always seen to be influenced by the social context in which the literature is produced, it is highly influenced by the thought processes that writers go through before doing the actual writing or in the course of their writing. Research conducted on the role of cognition in writing has it that the writing processes have a great role in shaping how writers think about what they write. The research further shows that the transformation of integrated word forms part of the integral component of the thoughts therein and as such, forms part of the fundamental processes of the most skilled writers. According to Bergmann, (2008), one cannot single out any academic literacy based on the far-fetched variations that exist between the genres. When carrying out academic writing, one does so in a dispassionate and impersonal tone, usually targeted for an informed and critical audience that is more often than not, informed on a strictly established knowledge, and meant to challenge or enforce some concepts or arguments. The writing usually revolves around and within the academic world. Nonetheless, an academic writer may also find his or her audience outside this establishment through written speeches, pamphlets, and journalism among other media. In English as a subject, some elements of ambiguity often emanate from the multifaceted nature of the literacy texts. According to Preece, (1998), uncertainty, ambiguity, and indeterminacy are all integral components of literacy expression and often form part of the fictional texts that portray their own meaning. Belcher et. al., (1985) on his part maintains that the ambiguity is an integral component of the literature that depicts the quality of the piece of work and helps in distinguishing the reading text from the interpretation. He closes by saying that the above assertion has a bearing on the failures as captured by the reading. When students are set to come up with a comprehensively researched academic work, they must always take into account the fact that evaluative judgment of their course and experience is essential. This is because multiple issues including interpretation may be varied from one individual to another and as such, may be more plausible than others. Notably, coming up with a well-documented and compelling argument can be very useful in ensuring that one develops an idea by use of referenced information. By all standards, an academic writing must always have an objective stance that clearly defines the significance of the topic of discussion. This is usually organized with some adequacy so as to enable other scholars to attempt replicating the findings. It should be noted that substantial scholarly papers are often not overly seen as general but instead makes use of the formal academic rhetoric when need be. How can one Achieve a good Research Paper? For one to achieve this, it is important to have in place a well worked out plan that involves stages. The actual writing process is often hectic, messy and recursive if one is not very careful. The given outline will help through the writing process and ensure that the outcome is palatable in all respects. The first step includes discovering, narrowing down and focusing on the researchable topic. The next stage will be finding and selecting the various resource materials. Grouping and sequencing of the information to be researched about is then documented. What follows is the outline of the subject matter together with ones prospect. Having these in place, it becomes imperative to have an introduction of the paper, a thesis statement which captures the key ideas of the write-up and then the body. This is where the details concerning the research work are obtained including previous studies. When this is done, the conclusion of the paper comes in where the writer gives his or her reflection of the paper giving out the final thoughts of the written research.
